Cash Wheeler Thinks FTR’s Latest AEW World Tag Title Run Will Likely Be Their Last

FTR are three-time AEW Tag Team Champions.
There have been three occasions throughout FTR’s time in All Elite Wrestling that they’ve captured that company’s World Tag Team Championship. That third reign started in November 2025 and ended in May 2026 at Double or Nothing.
While guest appearing on Late Night Grin with Joe Hulbert, Wheeler expressed his thought that FTR’s latest Tag Title run will likely be their last.
“We’ve done enough and I think, realistically, without really putting a stamp on it, obviously that was more likely than not our last title run, because it’s not something we’re really gonna be aspiring for at this point. It’s what can we do now that’s gonna be something that’s beneficial to someone else, or how can we help elevate this or that? So, I mean, that was probably it as far as that goes and now it’s like, alright, let’s have a little bit of a farewell more so than not — extended — it’s not like it’s gonna be a year from now but, closer to the end than the beginning at this point which is crazy because I still remember the NXT days so clearly and I still feel like I’m mentally around that age. But physically, I’m like, oh yeah. When I can’t (do) most of my workout because it involves me bending my back foot so I’m like, ‘Ah,’” he laughed.
Dax Harwood took to his Instagram page and shared that the team is taking some time away from the ring. They are set to return to in-ring action in August for independent shows.
