Charlotte Flair: I Want Stories That Are Going To Take Me To That Next Level Again

Charlotte Flair remains in the spotlight as a featured performer on WWE Raw every week, but her status has been somewhat lowered in recent months. Save for an unlikely partnership with Becky Lynch where the duo challenged for the Women's Tag Team Titles, Charlotte hasn't been in the singles title picture since the October draft.

Charlotte recently stated on WWE After The Bell that she is held to a different standard. And speaking to Metro, she discussed needing a good story to get her back in the mix.

"For me, I just want a story. I have many stories, but I want ones people are going to sink their teeth into and take me to that next level again. I?m a storyteller."

One story always in front of Charlotte is her quest for more championships. She is currently a ten-time Women's/Divas champion, nearing her father's mark of being a 16-time World Champion. In the interview, Charlotte revealed that she wasn't allowed to do her father's signature moves during her early days.

"When I first started, I wasn?t allowed to 'wooo,' do the figure four, nothing was supposed to be associated with my dad," she said. "And then at NXT Takeover against Natalya [in 2014], I won the NXT women?s championship. That day, I debuted my music which had his music in it, and I 'woooed' for the first time. It just happened organically because my dad was at ringside, but that was never something I set out to do? It wasn?t wanting to continue the legacy, it just happened. How do you ignore the fact that your father is Ric Flair?"

Charlotte is scheduled to compete this Sunday in the Women's Royal Rumble. You can find the full list of participants in the bout by clicking here.
