According to the official "Queen of the Ring" social media account, Charlotte Flair was originally cast as June Byers in the film. Charlotte also helped train Emily Bett Rickards, who played Mildred Burke in the film.
The account states that Vince McMahon personally pulled her from the film because "we were a small independent film, not a major studio release."
Kamille ended up playing June Byers in the film.

On May 17, the "Queen of the Ring" social media account claimed WWE blocked the film from airing ads during WWE Raw.
The movie returned to select theaters in May and is available on-demand.
