Chase Owens is sticking with NJPW.
On January 31, Owens announced that was the final day of his NJPW contract, which would have made him a free agent on February 1.
On February 2, while streaming on Twitch, Owens revealed that he is staying with NJPW.
"I'm going to be in New Japan Pro Wrestling for a long freaking time. I'm not going anywhere. I'm 'for life,'" he said. "The money I'm given is worth the sacrifice. I'm not going to say exactly how long. My last contract was two years. It was way longer than two years. I'm 31 now. I'm going to be damn near 40 when my contract comes up."
Owens said he leaves to return to NJPW on February 24.
Cassidy Haynes of BodySlam.net reports Owens' deal is for five years and in the $150-$200k range.
Owens made his NJPW debut in 2014 and has worked regularly for the company since competing in Best Of The Super Junior XXII in 2015. He is a member of Bullet Club and is a former NJPW King Of Pro-Wrestling provisional trophy holder.
Owens last wrestled at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 16 night two in the KOPW Provisional Trophy four-way bout that also featured CIMA, Minoru Suzuki, and Toru Yano.
