Chris Bey is a former IMPACT X-Division Champion and has held various Independent titles, though he's closer to the beginning of his career than the end. Bey has established himself as one of the top names in IMPACT thanks to his in-ring performances and association with Bullet Club.
Christian Cage is one of the most respected veterans in wrestling, often praised for his mind when it comes to the sport. When Christian returned to IMPACT in 2021, Bey wanted to take in his theme and pick his brain.
"I still love his theme song, that's my favorite theme song. I had to purposely stand in gorilla at Bound For Glory to feel that, when he came out, 'Ain't no way I'm not gonna sit here and feel this,'" Bey told Chris Van Vliet on Insight.
When asked if he got advice from Christian, Bey replied, "One of the first days he was there, I asked him if he could watch some of my stuff and give me some feedback if he had time, and he did. Some basic stuff, just not wasting motion in wrestling. Picking apart some specific moments in my match where I could have made slight adjustments that would have changed the whole perception of what happened and protected it a little bit more. It wasn't a lack of protection. When you're talking to someone like Christian who has wrestled everyone under the sun and has been doing it for so long, it's the little stuff that is going to make the world of difference. He was so cool."
Christian finished up his run with IMPACT at Bound For Glory, where he lost the IMPACT World Title to Josh Alexander.
