Chris Jericho Believes Vince McMahon Will Be Involved With NXT On USA; Calls NXT "Minor Leagues"

Chris Jericho doesn't think Vince McMahon can stay away.

Yesterday it was announced that NXT would be moving to USA Network beginning on Sept. 18. With the brand moving from WWE Network to cable, many fans are worried that Vince McMahon will be more hands-on with the product, which is widely viewed as a bad thing. Count former WWE Champion and current AEW star Chris Jericho as among those who believe Vince will want to control the yellow brand.

"Of course he is. He's Vince McMahon," Jericho told Busted Open Radio when asked if Vince will be involved. "He's a genius. I think the appeal of NXT, whatever it is because I don't watch it. Don't care. It's the minor leagues to me. The appeal is that it's its own little entity outside of the WWE world. If Vince gets involved, to me, it's going to become another SmackDown and Raw. I think you're going to see all three of those shows interacting with each other. It's gonna be another WWE show. Whatever the appeal of NXT is, it's now going to be changed to another Raw and SmackDown. If you like Raw and SmackDown, you're gonna like NXT. There's no way Vince McMahon is gonna stay at home and not be involved in this. That's what he does."

According to multiple reports, NXT is not expected to undergo any changes and Vince is reportedly not expected to be at NXT events on Wednesdays.

Elsewhere on the podcast, Jericho stated that he believes WWE is diluting their own product by adding another two hours to cable television. You can view his full comments by clicking here.
