However, the team formerly known as Ever-Rise in WWE are not simply extras in AEW, according to Chris Jericho. Jericho says in the latest episode of his podcast, where Team 2.0 are the guests, that Matt Lee and Jeff Parker have signed with AEW and they are AEW’s newest tag team.

Chris Jericho does note that they did not get into the signing during the interview because at the time the interview was reported, Monday, August 2, 2021, he had not been told that the tag team was signed. In fact, he says he hadn't even met them before the interview, the interview was just a favor to WWE Superstar, Kevin Owens.

As of this writing, AEW has yet to officially confirm the team’s contractual status. Fightful will continue to monitor the story and report any and all updates.

Ever-Rise were staples of the WWE 205 Live brand, before being moved to WWE NXT. Their web show, Ever-Rise Live. which had been gaining traction on Twitter, was moved to WWE's YouTube channel the same week that they were released from their contract.
