Chris Jericho Says WWE Insulted Paul Wight And Sting In Their Final Runs

Chris Jericho gives his thoughts on AEW signing talents such as Sting and the former Big Show.

In the last few months, AEW has picked up legendary wrestling names, Sting and Paul Wight. Both men had extensive runs before their days in WWE in WCW and in the case of Sting, he was a major player in TNA Wrestling throughout the mid-2000s.

Chris Jericho has worked with both men during different points in their careers and the first-ever WWE Undisputed Champion says that these legends were practically insulted by WWE by the end of their runs with the sports entertainment juggernaut.

"These are guys that were kind of almost insulted in their WWE runs," Jericho said to Digital Spy. "[Sting and Wight were] definitely not treated with too much respect over the last few years. We treat our legends with respect, we don't make jokes out of them and WWE is notorious for that, whether it's Sting, Paul Wight, Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson, Jake Roberts, Dustin Rhodes, throw in Chris Jericho.

"We know how to treat our legendary performers with respect and make them all look great and make them all worthy of being in AEW because if they aren't worthy of being in AEW why would they be there?"

He continued, "Everybody's that's under contract in AEW is there and designed to be as much of a star as they possibly can be."

According to Paul Wight during his first appearance on AEW Dynamite, the promotion will sign another Hall of Fame-level talent during this Sunday's pay-per-view, AEW Revolution. Learn more here.
