Chris Masters Praises Eli Drake, Talks About The Eventual Split

Chris Adonis and Eli Drake are developing into quite the formidable duo.

Adonis spoke to HuffPost about the relationship between the two. He had nothing but praise for Drake, the current Impact Heavyweight Champion, saying that Drake reaching to the top and becoming champion came at the right moment.

"He’s been kind of a homegrown talent in Impact and has worked really hard to get where he’s at” Adonis said, praising Impact's top champion. “People are really starting to react to him, so it’s really the right time for them to do something with him.”

But of course, every duo in pro wrestling splits up with one another eventually -- it's just a part of the business. Adonis knows this, but acknowledges that eventually not everything can last forever.

“As long as I’ve been in Impact, nothing has been set in stone” he said, “Everything has been questionable. We’ve had a lot of moving pieces, a lot of people in and out. It’s about getting the company to a stable place at this point. There are ways to do that which are really cool, and there are ways to do it which aren’t, so we just need to make sure it is.”

"Then all of this can be for a reason at the end of the day” Adonis continued, “And it can help both characters get to where they need to be.”

Drake won the championship back at the August tapings, winning a battle royal.
