Christian Cage And CM Punk On Opposite Ends Of Tag Match, FTR Warns Adam Cole | AEW Collision Recap

Here is your fight size update following AEW Saturday Collision on July 22, 2023:

- CM Punk, during the show's opening segment, confronted Ricky Starks about how Starks defeated him in the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Memorial Cup Tournament. Punk referred to himself as the "real" World Champion during the promo. Tell him when he's telling lies.

- That segment led to the show's main event, featuring Punk teaming up with his good friend Darby Allin against Christian Cage & Ricky Starks. In what was Christian's first tag team match in a year, Cage & Starks picked up the win as Starks grabbed the rope (again) while pinning Darby, leaving CM Punk very frustrated.

- This was the first time that CM Punk and Christian Cage were in a match against one another since the 2013 WWE Money in the Bank event, just a little over ten years to the day before this episode of AEW Collision.

- Scorpio Sky was watching the main event in a skybox, apparently keeping his eyes on Luchasaurus

- Bullet Club Gold's Juice Robinson & Switchblade Jay White rebounded from their loss in the absolute classic 2 Out Of 3 Falls bout against FTR last week with a victory over Action Andretti & Darius Martin.

- Speaking of Bullet Club Gold, Austin & Colten Gunn have a new shirt available on ShopAEW.com

- FTR was highlighted in a video package. Later in the night, they previewed their match for next week's AEW Collision against Adam Cole & MJF. Both Dax and Cash warned Adam Cole about trusting Maxwell Jacob Friedman.

- Fans will hear from Cole & MJF on the July 26, 2023 episode of AEW Dynamite.

- Check out the full card for Dynamite here.

- Despite the best efforts of Nick Comoroto, Miro was able to pick up yet another victory with the "Game Over."

- Andrade was ejected from the building in an effort to subvert potential interference in the AEW World Trios Titles bout.

- During the traditional pre-match rap from The Acclaimed, Max Caster proclaimed that The House of Black was his "favorite category on YouPorn." He was immediately blasted with a running knee by Buddy Matthews, leading to an abrupt start of the match.

- In the match itself, The House of Black successfully retained, with Billy Gunn being dropped by Malakai Black's Black Mass. After the match, Gunn left his boots in the ring, raising questions regarding his future.

- The House of Black's Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews are currently the longest-reigning AEW World Trios Champions at 137 days and counting.

- Video packages recapped AEW Blood & Guts & AR Fox's victory at ROH Death Before Dishonor

- Skye Blue fell to Taya Valkyrie in a competitive matchup in women's action. After the match, Valkyrie heeled it up on the New Jersey crowd. When talking about her victory, she referred to Skye Blue as a homegrown, and she challenged Baker to a match that was later made for AEW Dynamite on July 26.

- Next week's AEW Saturday Collision will also feature a Ladder Match and much more. See it all here.
