Claudio Castagnoli talks about the Continental Classic tournament.
For the past three years, Claudio Castagnoli has found himself a participant in the Continental Classic tournaments each year, and now he feels it has become ‘the’ tournament in professional wrestling.
While speaking to Wrestling Republic in a new interview, Claudio Castagnoli spoke about the Continental Classic, noting his belief that it has become the tournament in professional wrestling.
“Well, I think the Continental Classic has become the tournament in professional wrestling within three years. If you would have asked me every year, I’ve probably said it every year, saying that the competitors in it are amazing and are the best. But I feel like this year’s competitors, I mean, just look at the blue block. I mean, that’s just, you look at it and it’s a who’s who and you’ll be really hard to pick the outcome of it, and the same with the Golden Block as well. That’s what a tournament should be. I think it’s very unpredictable, which is obviously great for everyone involved, and it’s a big challenge, which is what I’m looking forward to. That’s why I like being in the Continental Classic. It’s because it’s plain, simple, it’s great it’s determination, it’s one versus one, seeing who’s the best.”
Tony Khan recently congratulated Claudio on becoming the CMLL World Champion. You can read more about that here.
