CM Punk (In Long Tights) Wins His First Match In Seven Years At AEW All Out 2021

CM Punk and Darby Allin faced off at AEW All Out 2021.

Seven years after leaving WWE, CM Punk returned to wrestling on the August 20 episode of AEW Rampage. During his return speech, Punk said that he was excited to work with the young talent in the back before challenging Darby Allin to a match at All Out.

Sting walked Darby to the ring, but as he promised, went to the back afterwards. Punk came out next, donning long tights. Darby sat in the corner as Punk paced around the ring and didn't rise until Punk also sat down.

The match started with Darby trying to outwrestle Punk, keeping him in a hammerlock. Punk would slowly regain control using his size advantage, also utilizing chokeholds to slow the pace. He would hit the GTS, but Darby fell to the outside before Punk could cover him. Darby would fight back, hitting a pair of dives on the outside, but missed on a Coffin Drop after Punk sat up. Another GTS would win the match for CM Punk.

After the bell, Sting came out and shook Punk's hand. They both helped Darby to his feet, after which Punk also shook his hand.

This was Punk's first singles match since a January 2014 Monday Night Raw victory over Billy Gunn.
