CM Punk: Roman Reigns Failed After Multiple Opportunities And Didn’t Learn Anything
CM Punk takes aim at Roman Reigns ahead of WrestleMania 42.
Roman Reigns has been at the top of WWE for a decade, headlining his first WrestleMania in 2015. Reigns’ run at the top got off to a rough start as fans rejected the former Shield member and “The Big Dog.”
It wasn’t until 2020 when he became the “Tribal Chief” that fans acknowledged Reigns.
“Myself and guys like me, this business has evolved and changed so much, but there is still always going to be resentment towards people that are born on third base,” CM Punk told Corey Graves. “I have been friends with and seen dozens of people that I thought had talent that were never afforded a single opportunity Roman got, and I have watched him get opportunity after opportunity after opportunity, and frankly, fail. Failure is your best teacher, but I don’t think he really learned anything from that. He had management and an entire system that was going to shove him down everybody’s throat, and by some miracle, he finally figured it out.
Elsewhere during the interview, Punk said if Reigns actually had a say in his return, he should’ve said no. You can find his comments here.
Punk will defend the WWE World Heavyweight Title against Reigns at WrestleMania 42.
