CM Punk Thought The Finish Of John Cena vs. Gunther Was Beautiful

The finish of John Cena vs. Gunther has caused much discourse online with some loving the poetic nature of Cena tapping out and being at peace with everything in his last match, and others not liking that the man who said “never give up,” simply gave up.
“Stranger Things” fans are having a similar discussion regarding the ending of the series.
Without giving spoilers in this article, CM Punk weighed in on the finish to Cena vs. Gunther.
“I thought it was great. I was super happy about it, but people have their opinions,” Punk said of the “Stranger Things” ending when speaking to Robbie Fox on My Mom’s Basement. “Just like the John Cena and Gunther finish. I feel like it’s the same thing. Some people, maybe I don’t think you understand what you’re watching. If you didn’t like it, I can also understand that. To make it your entire personality and spend an unhealthy amount of time talking about it…I’ll put it this way, if John won, they’d be mad about that too, but we wouldn’t be talking about it anymore. We’re still talking about that finish. The smile, the tap. ‘Oh my God, the guy who said don’t give up, gave up.’ Did he? I thought it was beautiful.”

WWE had a “Stranger Things” themed episode on Monday’s Raw, which was headlined by Punk defending the WWE World Heavyweight Title against Bron Breakker.
