Fightful Select reports “Sources familiar with Santos Escobar’s situation told @FightfulSelect that CMLL expected him to join the company before re-signing with WWE last year. Those we spoke to expect the CMLL conversations to resume.”

Santos Escobar re-signed with WWE in October and joined AAA, which is owned by WWE. The company released him on Friday. He is currently sidelined with an injury after undergoing surgery on his torn triceps.
