Cody is the first man through to the semi-finals of the AEW TNT Title tournament.
On Wednesday's Dynamite, Cody defeated Shawn Spears in the quarterfinal matchup. Spears gave Cody all he could handle and Cody threw everything he had at Spears, finishing him off with two Cross Rhodes and a Figure Four. Spears didn't tap out from the Figure Four, but he was so incapacitated that his shoulders stayed down for the three count.
Cody will move on to face the winner of Sammy Guevara vs. Darby Allin in the semifinals of the tournament. The first-ever AEW TNT Champion is scheduled to be crowned at AEW Double or Nothing.
