Cody Rhodes Describes His Last Moments At WWE

Cody Rhodes confirms Stardust was the end of his WWE career.

In 2016, Cody Rhodes left WWE after working for months as Stardust with which he was not pleased. In an interview with The Ringer, Rhodes said what he told Triple H about his feelings on Stardust.

"'I’m not putting on that fucking suit again unless I’m doing it to tell the story of me coming back as Cody Rhodes,'" said Rhodes. "And I thought he’d understand that. He did not. It wasn't his dad. And at the end of the day, he does so much for Dusty. But I’m not Dusty. Dusty is not here," he added.

Since he felt WWE was not listening to him about his character, he thought back to his father and the wrestlers of yesteryear and Rhodes said he knew they would not put up with Stardust.

“What would any of those guys have done if they thought they had a brand, if they thought they had value? And I knew it was not, ‘You’ve got to be coming back to work.’ I knew,” said Rhodes.

Rhodes has went on to the main event of wrestling promotions all around the world including becoming Ring of Honor World Champion. He has now began the process of promoting his own show along with The Young Bucks. That event will be called All In, will take place September 1st, and the location was just revealed to be in Chicago.
