Street Fighter has now released around the world, in an adaptation of the iconic video game franchise. The movie features several pro wrestlers, including Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns and Hirooki Goto. For Cody, this movie is a proud moment for all of wrestling.
While speaking to Denise Salcedo in a recent interview, Cody Rhodes spoke about how all the wrestling industry can be proud of the movie.
“I really think it’s a moment for all of wrestling. to be proud and, you know, it’s kind of our moment, right? I’m so lucky that i got offered this role and I’d work your whole life and you want these things and you know this is you literally, you’ve been on the up in the up in the up, your upward mobility is amazing to watch, which is why i’m so happy that you’re here, but I’m excited for all of wrestling at three wrestlers in a movie. Think of the days we can get, you know, I remember going to see Guardians (Of The Galaxy) and people, being curious how Dave Bautista would be, and then the first big laugh was a Drax moment, was a Batista moment. I felt like, ‘yeah, that’s the wrestler, that’s the guy.’ So the fact that you have Roman, you have Goto and me all in this, and everyone’s vastly different, I’m excited for wrestling.”
Elsewhere in another recent interview, Cody spoke about his meeting at Marvel Studios. You can read more about that here.
