Colby Corino Returns To NWA, Earns Junior Heavyweight Title Shot At NWA Crockett Cup 2023

Colby Corino is back in the NWA.

At NWA Crockett Cup, a six-man scramble match was set to determine the next challenger for Kerry Morton's NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship. All six competitors made their way to the ring, but before the bell rang, Colby Corino was introduced as a surprising addition to the bout. Corino came out with Jamie Stanley, who stayed at ringside for the match.

The seven competitors battled it out in a hard-fought match, and Corino emerged victorious by pinning Flip Gordon. The match also included Jarron Fulton, Gaagz the Gump, Eric Jackson, PJ Hawx, and Joe Alonzo. Morto confronted him after the match and talked some trash.

Corino, the son of Steve Corino, made his NWA debut in 2019 and later signed with the company in 2021. He confirmed that he was a free agent in January 2023, and he was reportedly expected to head to the WWE Performance Center.

He then reportedly signed with the company in February, but he entered free agency again in May, as he later said his WWE deal fell through. Click here to see what Corino had to say about what happened with his WWE deal.
