Court Bauer Says Richard Holliday Is A Free Agent

Court Bauer provides an update on Richard Holliday.

In December, Holliday revealed that he was being treated for Hodgkin’s lymphoma after being away from Major League Wrestling for over six months. On February 18, Holliday took to social media to announce that he had finished his cancer treatment process. He thanked everyone for their support and said it is now time to recover.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Court Bauer was asked for an update on Richard Holliday.

"He is a free agent now. His contract during his treatment expired. He's technically not with MLW, but we stay in regular touch," Bauer said. "His recovery has gone well. We told him there is a seat warm for him when he wants to come back, if he wants to come back as a free agent. When he was trying to figure out what this thing was, he shared in confidence with me, he was lagging and didn't have the energy. He could see, he looked pale, his matches weren't clicking, he was blowing up fast. He barely got through a June match against Hammerstone, a falls count anywhere, an amazing match, best match of his career. 'You left it all out there.' He was on his back after the match, in the dressing room, I said, 'Put him next to me. I want to eye him as I manage the rest of the show.' I knew something was wrong and something was off. We just couldn't tell what it was."

Bauer said that Holliday went in for tests during the summer to figure out what was going on and then began his treatment once he was diagnosed with cancer. Bauer said Holliday attacked his treatment with positivity and he is excited to see what is next for him.

It is unknown when Holliday will return to the ring.
