On Tuesday's NXT, Dakota Kai turned on NXT Women's Champion Raquel Gonzalez and seemingly declared her intentions to challenge for the belt.
Gonzalez has run through everyone in the NXT women's division, believing there was no competition left for her. Kai hyped up the NXT Women's Champion said that Gonzalez would be champion as long as she was by her side.
Then, Kai kicked her in the face to initiate the split. Kai held up the NXT Women's Title before walking off.

Kai and Gonzalez had been teaming on television since April 2020. They won the Women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic 2021, which allowed them to become the first-ever NXT Women's Tag Team Champions.
Gonzalez has been NXT Women's Champion since WWE NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver in April.
