The anticipation of the bout was no longer needed as the Three-Way match for the ROH World Championship commenced in Baltimore at Ring Of Honor's 'Best In The World' PPV. The implications that hovered over this match were crucial for each competitor. Marty Scurll was looking to step out of the shadows of his Bullet Club brethren. Dalton Castle wanted to continue reigning as ROH World Champion and next month on the 15th of July he will have been the top dog in ROH for seven months. Cody had plans to win his second ROH World Title at the very event that he won his first and awaiting Cody was a shot at the IWGP Heavyweight Championship next Saturday and a shot at Nick Aldis' NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship at 'All In' which had stakes of its own.
Castle, Scurll, and Rhodes clashed in a bout that saw each man have their moment at capturing championship gold. Towards the later end of the match, NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis who was at ringside pulled the official out of the ring as Dalton Castle was about to secure a three count to retain his title. The official then sent everyone at ringside to the back and left the finish of the match to those involved in it.
Marty Scurll reversed Cody's "Cross-Rhodes" finishing maneuver and gave Cody a taste of his own medicine, and after a few sequence of events, Dalton Castle caught Marty Scurll with a "Bang-A-Rang" to secure the victory and to retain his ROH World Championship.
