Dana Brooke Discusses Working With Ronda Rousey And Her Impact On The WWE Women's Division

Dana Brooke comments on the influence Ronda Rousey has had on her and the WWE Women's Division.

After showing up at the 2018 Royal Rumble, Ronda Rousey would become a dominant force in the WWE Women's Division, working her way to a Raw Championship victory a handful of months later at SummerSlam. She would hold the belt for 231 days before dropping it to Becky Lynch in a Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania 35.

Speaking with NBC Sports Boston's Ten Count Podcast, Dana Brooke said that Rousey joining WWE was a blessing for the Women's Division and that the UFC Hall of Famer pushed her to her limits.

"When Ronda Rousey came in, it was a blessing for the women's division because it brought a bunch of eyes that we never had and elevated the women's division. I was very grateful for that. I came out with a little chip on my shoulder and I cut a promo saying, 'I'm not a household name, this is me, this is my life. I busted my butt for so many years to be at this point and you come in and you're right there. I just want to prove to the world that I'm not afraid of anybody, I will definitely go toe-to-toe with anybody.' She elevated me, she pushed me to my limit, she pushed me to my potential. I got to work with her at WWE live events, it was great. I earned Ronda's respect I feel. At the end of the day, I learned a lot from a loss than I feel I would have learned from a win. I learned a lot about myself, my limits, my boundaries. I was pushed to the ultimate test. In my eyes, that's a win," she said.

Ronda returned to WWE at the 2021 Royal Rumble and is set to challenge Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania 38 (Night One). The updated lineup for the show can be seen here.

Brooke is the reigning WWE 24/7 Champion and has been involved in a relationship with Reggie. In another interview, Brooke discussed wanting to defend the title against some Chicago celebrities. You can find her full comments by clicking here.
