Daniel Bryan Is Disappointed He Never Got To Wrestle CM Punk At WrestleMania

There is no indication that CM Punk will be returning to the ring anytime soon, but that hasn't stopped people from asking about a return.

Ever since CM Punk appeared on WWE Backstage in November, he and other wrestlers have been asked about a potential in-ring return. Punk has stated that it's not something he is actively pursuing. He hasn't wrestled since leaving WWE in 2014. Punk leaving WWE at that time seemingly opened the door for Daniel Bryan, who went on to main event WrestleMania 30, winning the WWE Championship.

Speaking to Cerrito Live, Bryan was asked if he believes Punk will return to the ring.

"It's always so enticing to comeback, as much as you don't want to. I would hope yes [Punk returns]. In the back of my mind, even after he left, I always had this thing where it seemed to me where there should have always been a WrestleMania match between CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. Now, at this point, he may be past that. I know he's not big on people putting his name out there and saying, 'I want to do this.' That's not where I'm coming from with this, at all. But, in the back of my head, I was always disappointed we never got a CM Punk and Daniel Bryan WrestleMania match," he said.

Punk and Bryan were involved in multiple storylines together -- both as friends and enemies -- during Punk's time in WWE. They did have two pay-per-view one-on-one matches, first at WWE Over The Limit 2012 and again at WWE Money in the Bank 2012. Punk was victorious in both bouts.
