Daniel Bryan Thought Roman Reigns Would Be Cheered At WrestleMania 37, Says He Catered To Boos

With fans returning to WWE for the first time in over a year at WrestleMania 37, no one quite knew what the reactions would be.

Though Roman Reigns has been the top heel since SummerSlam, many thought he would be cheered at WrestleMania because it would be the "cool" thing to do and a show of appreciation for Roman's work. Instead, Roman was booed while Edge, who has been turning into a heel on the road to WrestleMania, received the biggest cheer on the night. Daniel Bryan, the ultimate underdog babyface, got a mixed reaction.

Speaking to BT Sport, Bryan discussed the crowd reactions at WrestleMania 37.

"I thought for sure, Roman was going to get massive cheers because he's been the coolest TV character we've had in a long time. When he came out and got boo'd, I was like, 'oh, that's a bit of a surprise.' I found [the crowd booing me] interesting. When I'm in there, I try to be in the moment and in the moment, I was trying to cater to the boos. Being 'Yes' Daniel Bryan and getting cheered, that's fine, but there's just something about being a bad guy, but everyone likes to be the bad guy because it's the most fun," said Bryan.

Reigns walked into WrestleMania as the Universal Champion and walked out of WrestleMania as the Universal Champion, pinning both Edge and Bryan.

Elsewhere during the interview, Bryan discussed the odd detachment he had at WrestleMania 37. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
