Daniel Bryan had high praise for Drew Gualk following their match at WWE Elimination Chamber.
Speaking backstage on Sunday night, Bryan delivered an impassioned promo, not only praising the skills of Drew Gulak but also making multiple references to an upcoming AEW match.
"I feel alive," stated Bryan. "This is what I love about this. I don't ever want to just go through the motions. When I got out there and fight, I want to fight with my heart. I want to fight with blood and guts. That's why I wanted to fight with Drew Gulak and that's why I wanted to fight with Drew Gulak for years. I remember, I was commentating the Cruiserweight Classic. I had seen him on Independent shows, but it was my first time seeing him live. I said, 'I wish I could get in the ring with that guy. Because that guy fights with blood and guts.' When he came to SmackDown and I saw him doing his powerpoint presentations. I said, 'This isn't the Drew Gulak I've seen before, what's wrong with him?' When he came up to me and said 'I've spotted holes in your game, I want to help you.' I took that as him thinking he's better than me. There's no way in hell he's better than me, especially not right now. I went out there and he was better than I thought he was. I thought he was one of the best technical wrestlers in the world when I watched him in the Cruiserweight Classic and when I fought him tonight, HE MADE ME FIGHT WITH BLOOD AND GUTS! WHICH IS WHAT I WANT! HE IS MUCH BETTER THAN I EVER THOUGHT HE WAS! So now, I want to see if if he's true to his word. I want to see if he can help me."
Blood & Guts is the name of the WarGames-style match on the Mar. 25 episode of AEW Dynamite. It's also the term used by Vince McMahon last year when describing the content of AEW.
Bryan defeated Gulak at WWE Elimination Chamber, making him pass out in the Yes Lock. If you missed anything from WWE Elimination Chamber, check out Fightful's full report on the show by clicking here.
