Daniel Cormier Shares The Text Message He Received From Seth Rollins Following UFC 226

Seth Rollins rooting for Cormier.

Two weeks ago at UFC 226 the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier defeated Stipe Miocic via TKO to not only become UFC Heavyweight Champion but also the second man in the history of the company to hold two championships while in two separate weight classes. Following his victory Cormier called out former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar who has since began the process of getting back into the USADA testing pool.

A clip recently made the rounds coming off the fallout of Cormier's confrontation with Brock Lesnar at UFC 226 and the clip featured Daniel Cormier in his seat at WrestleMania 31 in 2015 when Seth Rollins cashed in the Money In The Bank contract and won WWE's World Heavyweight Championship in a match that Brock Lesnar walked into as the champion.

Cormier shared his thoughts on the clip while speaking with Denise Salcedo at the ESPN Humanitarian Awards and shared a text message that he received from Seth Rollins after his UFC 226 victory.

?Maybe that?s why he?s [Brock Lesnar] so mad at me huh? Because I?m friends with Seth Rollins. I got a text message from Seth right after the fight--he goes, ?Congratulations, now go kick Brock?s ass? and that?s what I?m gonna do.? Cormier said.

Cormier then went on to explain the aura in the octagon as he and Brock Lesnar shoved one another and exchanged words. The 21-1-0 fighter stated that it truly felt like he was having a WrestleMania moment.

?I was really thinking--I?m like, ?I?m having a WrestleMania moment?. That was going through my head. I was like, ?I am having, a real WrestleMania moment? and it was awesome, it was awesome. I mean, I was having so much fun, you know, being in there from the fight.? Cormier continued, ?Getting the two belts, and then the only way Dana could stop us was by handing me a second title because now it was time for pictures and he did that and I was like, ?Ok Brock, get out?.
