Daniel Bryan Goes The Distance In Elimination Chamber Match To Retain WWE Championship

And still the WWE Champion...

The second of two Elimination Chamber matches at tonight's WWE 'Elimination Chamber' pay-per-view featured Daniel Bryan defending his WWE Championship against AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Jeff Hardy, Randy Orton and Kofi Kingston. In the end it was Bryan and Kofi battling it out but Bryan emerged victorious and was able to continue his reign as WWE Champion.

Daniel Bryan started off the Chamber match against Samoa Joe. Joe and Bryan engaged in what was a chop-off and were attempting to blister one another's chests. Kofi entered third and was followed by AJ Styles. By the time Jeff Hardy got in the match, Samoa Joe had been eliminated. The next individual out of the match was Jeff Hardy who was eliminated by Daniel Bryan then Randy Orton eliminated AJ Styles. Following that was the conclusion of a feud that dates back several years ago with Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton as Kofi eliminated "The Viper".

Lastly, it was Kofi and the WWE Champion Daniel Bryan. The crowd inside the Toyota Center was behind Kingston. He knocked Bryan off the top of the pod that they were fighting on and went for a "Frog Splash" but it did not connect. When Kingston turned around, he was met with a running knee from Bryan for the three count and Bryan survived the Elimination Chamber match and is still WWE Champion.

Xavier Woods and Big E made their way to the ring to assist Kofi to the back and the crowd gave the former 4-time Intercontinental Champion a standing ovation as they recognized the hard work that Kofi has put in over the past eleven years.
