For those who miss seeing Daria Berenato, aka Sonya Deville, on their TV screens, they'll have the chance to see her again on Friday, May 16. That's because Berenato will be providing color commentary for Invicta FC 62, airing live on the CBS Sports Network.
Berenato recently made an appearance as a "special guest" at Invicta FC 61 and, now, she's been given the chance to be a part of the show. WWE opted not to resign Berenato back in February of 2025, so she took that as an opportunity to "come back home" to her MMA roots, by partnering with Invicta FC, which is the world's largest all-women's mixed martial arts organization. Invicta FC began in 2012 and, in the 13 years of its existence, it has proven to be one of the best MMA organizations for women fighters in the entire world.
It's also one of the best MMA organizations for women commentators, and Friday's event will feature an all-women commentary team. Recently, Berenato spoke with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp to discuss a number of different subjects, including how her deal with Invicta came to be.
So I was very aware of Invicta when I was a fighter. Obviously being a female fighter coming up 10 years ago, a dream of mine was to fight for Invicta. I actually went to an Invicta FC card maybe like 11, 12 years ago now, like right when it first started out in LA. I remember being like, ‘I want to fight here.’ So it's very, very close to home and it started really organically.
"Me and Shannon Knapp followed each other on social media the way that that happens now in this world. We had a conversation that led to more conversations and we felt like we really just aligned on a lot of things. I'm kind of here to A, be somewhere where I feel I'm pursuing something that I'm passionate and I care about, and B to hopefully help in any way that I can and also learn from people like Megan Anderson and Julie Kedzie, who I'm fortunate enough to be sitting alongside this Friday," Berenato said.
Berenato will be offering commentary alongside Anderson and Kedzie for Invicta FC 62, happening on Friday, May 16 beginning at 06:30 p.m. ET, on the CBS Sports Network. The card features Katharina Lehner taking on Olga Rubin; DeAnna Bennett fighting Rayla Nascimento; Milana Dudieva facing off against Amanda Torres and more.
