Dominik Mysterio Says He’ll ‘Lose His Absolute Shit’ If He Isn’t The One To Retire Rey Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio is determined to end his father’s wrestling career.

Earlier this year, there was speculation that Dominik could possibly wrestle Rey Mysterio in a retirement match at WrestleMania. That match didn’t end up happening, but ‘Dirty Dom’ is still insisting that it will happen.

Speaking with Ariel Helwani for a new interview, Mysterio said that he doesn’t think there was ever discussion for the match to happen at this year’s WrestleMania.

“I don’t think there was ever any talks for it, but I’ve been talking about it. I want him out of here. Now even with my sister coming in, there’s only room for so many Mysterios. There’s one pushing 60 and I think it’s time for him to kick rocks, that’s just how I see it.”

Dominik went on to say that he will lose his shit if he isn’t the one that retires his dad.

“It has to be. I don’t see any other way for it. I genuinely don’t. It’s my birthright. I will lose my absolute shit if it’s not me. I have to do it, it’s the only way possible. I gotta take his mask and I gotta take his name.”

To cap off the topic, Mysterio was asked to name his ideal setting for the eventual match.

“If it was up to me, I would do it in El Auditorio de Tijuana Fausto Gutierrez, super historical arena down in Tijuana, Mexico. I believe my dad has wrestled there, debuted there. My great uncle. Most of my godfathers have wrestled there. There’s a historic tunnel that takes you down to the gorilla area. I remember one time, I believe it was my dad and someone else, they sold that arena out to where people were sitting in the stairs, in the walkways. People were sitting there and the whole arena was packed out. I think my dad versus me in a retirement match somewhere in Tijuana would be insane.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Dominik talked about working with Ryan Garcia on a recent episode of Raw. Fans can check out his full comments on the matter by clicking here.
