Dorian Roldán On AAA's Relationship With AEW: I Think We Have Solved All The Issues

Dorian Roldán comments on the relationship between AAA and AEW.

AEW and AAA have worked together at different points since AEW launched in 2019. AAA titles have been defended multiple times in AEW, dating back to 2019; at AEW All Out 2019, The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. and Re Fenix) defeated The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) to retain the AAA World Tag Team Championship.

In recent weeks, El Hijo Del Vikingo has competed on AEW TV multiple times; he memorably faced Kenny Omega on the March 22, 2023 episode of AEW Dynamite. Additionally, AAA star Komander has competed on AEW TV, and Tony Khan announced that he signed with the company.

Speaking on John Poz and Lavie Margolin on The Business of the Business, General Director of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide Dorian Roldán was asked about the company's relationship with AEW. He brought up the controversial situation where Dragon Lee announced that he signed with WWE after he and Dralistico beat AEW's FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) to win the AAA World Tag Team Championship, and he shared his belief that the issues have been solved.

“It has been, as any kind of relationship, with good moments and bad moments. As everybody knows, in December, when Dragon Lee was presented in WWE and all that stuff, there was kind of… AEW was not so comfortable, and even Konnan has been talking how was the conversation with Tony Khan about it. But right now, I think we have solved all the issues. We are super, super respectful, so we understand really well how was the position of AEW with all the things happening in the Mexican market and with the Mexican talent. But for us, they are our partners, we are going to protect their interests. We are super happy working with them. I think they are giving a great window to the roster, to the Mexican roster as RUSH and Komander, and Hijo Del Vikingo, so I think yes, right now, we are in a really good moment and momentum with AEW," Roldán said.

Omega will face Vikingo again at AAA TripleMania XXXI:Tijuana. More information is available here.

Konnan recently stated that Omega could not commit to AAA TripleMania XXXI: Monterrey because he was negotiating with AEW. Check out his comments here.
