Dragon Azteca Jr Becomes 9th Gift of The Gods Champion

It took three matches but Lucha Underground has a new Gift of the Gods Champion.

On last week's episode of Lucha Underground, all seven holders of the Aztec Medallions placed them into the Gift of the Gods Championship title and readied for a seven-way match. Antonio Cueto then announced the seven wrestlers would be competing in a battle royal and the winner would pick one of the seven to be taken out of the Gift of the Gods Championship match.

The Mack won that battle royal and chose to exclude Mil Muertes and the remaining six wrestlers met in the ring this week. Antonio Cueto again interrupted to say the six wrestlers would be competing in a six-person tag team match and the winning team then would wrestle for the Championship.

The team of Dragon Azteca Jr, Dezmond Xavier, and King Cuerno won the tag team match against the Mack, Son of Havoc and Ivelisse and then wrestled a triple threat match immediately.

After a fast paced match, Dragon Azteca Jr (also known as Rey Horus) won the Gift of the Gods Championship by pinning Xavier with a victory roll powerbomb from the top turnbuckle.

Fightful Wrestling will continue to provide more Lucha Underground coverage as Season 4 unfolds.
