The 2023 Finals for the CMLL Universal Championship Are Set.
On the 4/21/2023 edition of CMLL Viernes Espectacular, CMLL hosted the third and final match to crown the 2023 CMLL Universal Champion. With Atlantis Jr & Templario already advancing, it was a matter of finding the third and final member of the Triple Threat Match to crown the new champion.
CMLL World Middelweight Champion Dragon Rojo Jr defeated the rest of CMLL's ten World Champions in a Torneo Cibernetico Match, including CMLL World Tag Champions Los Ingobernables (Angel de Oro & Niebla Roja), and CMLL World Heavyweight Champion Grn Guerrero, and CMLL Welterweight Champion Titan. Dragon Rojo Jr last pinned Gran Guerrero after connecting him with the Coup de Grace.
The current CMLL World Middleweight Champion will face the CMLL Mexican Middleweight Champion Templario and current NWA World Historic Lightweight Champion Atlantis Jr in a bout to crown the 2023 Universal Champion, a title previously won by Mistico. The three men will face each other on the 4/28/2023 edition of CMLL Viernes Espectacular.
