Drew McIntyre has become quite the history teacher on WWE Raw, telling stories of Scotland as part of his promos.
McIntyre has never shied away from embracing his Scottish heritage and has often stated that he's become "the real Drew McIntyre" beginning with his Royal Rumble 2020 victory and feud with Brock Lesnar.
Speaking to Scott Fishman of TVInsider, McIntyre revealed the reason for his stories on WWE Raw.
"It comes down to the fans knowing that I’m a butt-kicker. There is this very straight line. This is showing something that’s a little out there. I tell these crazy stories and go on wild tangents. I am getting to show another side. I’ll joke backstage that I never plan to tell these wild stories. Then I walk into Matt Riddle’s room, and he is burning some sort of incense. I’m chatting with him for 10 minutes, and I walk out, and I’m really hungry, and I have these crazy stories coming out. I don’t know why," he joked.
Must be some good incense.
McIntyre and Riddle will clash at WWE Money in the Bank as two of the eight participants in the men's Money in the Bank ladder match. You can view the current lineup for WWE Money in the Bank by clicking here.
Fightful will have live coverage of WWE Raw beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Monday.
