Drew McIntyre Recalls Brock Lesnar Pulling Him Aside And Asking Him Why He Was Involved With 3MB

The feud between Drew McIntyre and Brock Lesnar that ended at WrestleMania may have only started in January, but McIntyre remembers the time Lesnar questioned his involvement with 3MB.

Before McIntyre returned to WWE years ago, McIntyre's last stint with the company saw him be aligned with Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal as part of 3MB. The group didn't win a lot of championships while together and in an interview with Sports Illustrated, McIntyre said Lesnar once pulled him aside and asked him why he was in the group to begin with.

"I remember it well. Brock was not long back at that point from UFC. He pulled me aside, and he straight-up asked me, ‘Why are you involved in this?’ He was so confused, but he saw something in me and believed in me. It’s pretty crazy, all these years later, I was the guy to take the title from him at WrestleMania," McIntyre said.

Years after that exchange, McIntyre defeated Lesnar in the main event of the second night of WrestleMania 36 on April 5 to capture the WWE Championship, his first world title in WWE.

But according to a cheeky little exchange between McIntyre and Slater, McIntyre winning the WWE Championship was part of the group's master plan of having all the members of the stable to hold world championships in WWE.
