Is Simone a future star?
Former 10-time WWE World Champion Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson last stepped into a wrestling ring for a full match in 2013 where he clashed with John Cena over the WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania XXIX. Johnson has since went on to primarily focus on his acting career--starring in a number of feature films over the years and there is yet another film that he is the lead for which hits theaters in the U.S. on July 13th entitled 'SkyScraper'.
To promote the film, Johnson joined Good Morning America and went over 'Skyscraper' but also shared that his oldest daughter Simone does have interest in pursuing a career in the sport of pro wrestling.
"She's so smart, we're all so proud of her," Johnson said of Simone. "She's going into her senior year. She signed with IMG as a model, she was a Golden Globes ambassador...Simone is working so hard and her work has already started. She wants to be a WWE wrestler."
Dwayne Johnson stated that his daughter traveled with him to the filming location of 'Skyscraper' and said the following to her:
"I said, 'Honey, whatever your passion is I support that,'" Johnson said. "And wrestling was good to me. I started my career in Madison Square Garden, so bring it on. She's going to be a champ."
This is not the first time that the thought of Simone Johnson stepping into the squared circle has popped up either. This past November Simone was interviewed by The Hollywood Reporter and she stated that wrestling is unlike any other sport in the word and added that it is definitely something that she has seriously considered pursuing.
