EC3 Released By WWE During Round Of Cuts

EC3 is now out of WWE.

After not being used for much of his main roster run, the man formerly known as Derrick Bateman and Ethan Carter III will be a free agent. He was unfortunately released from the company on Wednesday during a round of cuts related to issues WWE faced in keeping costs down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

EC3 returned to WWE in 2018 after a successful TNA Wrestling run that saw him become the face of the company. He told Fightful last month that he never really entertained the idea of going anywhere but WWE once he was able to secure his TNA release.

After a stop and start push at the beginning of 2019 that featured a brief feud with the exiting Dean Ambrose, EC3 was largely taken off television altogether after that. He was seen in the WWE 24/7 Title picture before missing the last seven months after battling a concussion. We're told that after a struggle, he's recuperated well.

He posted a Twitter video on Wednesday afternoon featuring a promo and thread.
