A new team has qualified for the 2022 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
During the January 4, New Year's Evil edition of NXT, it was announced that the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic would be kicking off soon. Per WWE, the men's tournament will begin on January 18, while the women's tournament will commence in February.
Joe Gacy, upon learning about the tournament, requested that he and Harland be given an opportunity to qualify as they didn't want to be given any handouts. On January 11, they faced Malik Blade and Edris Enofe in a play-in match.
Blade and Enfoe controlled the majority of the match, but the tides turned once Gacy was able to tag in Harland. The big man dominated Blade, but his anger got the best of him as he was disqualified for not breaking a five-count in the corner. As a result, Blade and Enfoe have qualified for the 2022 Dusty Cup.
