Ember Moon: I Rushed Back From Elbow Injury For WrestleMania 35, Then They Didn't Do Anything With Me

Ember Moon suffered an elbow injury around WWE Royal Rumble 2019 that was supposed to keep her out of action for roughly six months. Despite the injury, she worked nearly an hour in the Women's Royal Rumble before taking time off.

And while she wasn't supposed to return to action until at least May, she couldn't turn down the opportunity to be at WrestleMania 35 in April.

"I got hurt in February with my elbow. It was like, 'you're gonna be out six months' because it wasn't just a scope. I had defective cartilage, I had bone chips, a bone spur, a fracture, and three torn ligaments," Ember revealed on Booker T's Hall of Fame podcast. "I got hurt in February and they gave me late May, but maybe make it back for Money in the Bank. They called me and were like, 'we're gonna move up your doctors appointment' and I was like, 'Oh, why?' They were like, 'We're thinking Mania, the battle royal.' That's early April vs. late May. But it's Mania and I had never been at WrestleMania. Basically, I rush back, and they didn't do anything with me until Money in the Bank anyway. Then it was this weird timeframe and they were like, 'we're trying get you cleared for the draft.' I'm thankful I did sit out that time even though it was frustrating because I needed the extra month and a half to get ready because I consider myself a daredevil and I like to take risks. But I was so anxious to get back that I just realized, I got to do Mania, but with the Achilles rupture, they were telling me anywhere from four months to a year and a half. I don't want to rush back from this because of the likelihood of re-rupture. It's not a normal rupture, which is torn in half, I also stripped it off the bone."

After competing in Women's Battle Royal, Moon would continue to wrestle on television and live events, but had very little direction.

Elsewhere on the podcast, Moon discussed the lack of direction in the lower card, feeling like WWE has lost the ability to tell stories with non-main event talent. You can view her full comments by clicking here.
