AEW Dynamite (7/19/23) Preview: Blood & Guts, FTW Title, And More

It's Wednesday, July 19, 2023, and you know what that means!

It's time to break down the July 19 episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS.

Brooke Adams (Brooke Tessmacher) Would Pick Deonna Purrazzo As Possible Last Opponent

This week's episode features the finals of the Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament. Plus, we will hear from some of the top stars in AEW, and, of course, Blood & Guts.

Here's everything you need to know before tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS.

Blood & Guts

Kota Ibushi will make his debut on July 19 joining Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and Hangman Page to form The Golden Elite and take on The Blackpool Combat Club's Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, and Claudio Castagnoli along with Konosuke Takeshita and the returning PAC inside of Blood & Guts. PAC is the replacement for Bryan Danielson as Danielson is currently sidelined with an injury. PAC, who was recently on the shelf with an injury he suffered during a Best Of Seven series with The Elite is fueled by vengeance and specifically has his sights set on Kenny Omega.

Don Callis is hoping that the BCC wins as Kenny Omega has already said if The Elite comes away with the victory in the double-ring, he's going straight for his former manager. Claudio Castagnoli also has a Ring of Honor World Championship defense in 48 hours at ROH Death Before Dishonor.

With not much love to say but a lot of anticipation lingering in the air, it's clear that a Match Beyond looms.

FTW Title At Stake As JungleHOOK Explodes

Since the former Jurassic Express member turned on him at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2023, FTW Champion HOOK and Jack Perry have been engaged in a feud. Perry has repeatedly run away from HOOK. Perry's attempts to flee from HOOK, lead to him and Anna Jay taking a trip to Hawaii after he announced that he would not return until he had a chance to challenge HOOK for the title on the AEW Dynamite show from July 12.

HOOK decided to give Perry a chance at the gold during a brief promo on the July 14 edition of AEW Rampage, and the match was announced for the July 19 episode of AEW Dynamite.

It's put up or shut up time for Jack Perry and HOOK is chomping at the bit to make Perry choke on his words and actions. If HOOK has his way, Perry may literally be choked out.

Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament Finals

The unusual pairing of Adam Cole and AEW World Champion MJF will compete against Daniel Garcia and Sammy Guevara in the Blind Eliminator Tournament's final round. The contest will be featured on the AEW Dynamite episode airing on July 19.

The winner of the finals will compete for the AEW World Tag Team Championships against FTR's Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler on the AEW Rampage episode airing on July 29.

On Wednesday's Dynamite, Cole and MJF defeated Big Bill and Brian Cage while Guevara and Garcia defeated Orange Cassidy & Darby Allin to progress to the finals.

Garcia & Guevara want to show that the Jericho Appreciation Society is still going strong, despite the fact that MJF & Adam Cole seem like the favorites in spite of their pairing as an odd couple.

The updated card for the July 19 episode of AEW Dynamite is below.
