Gisele Shaw Wants To Put A Positive Meaning On The Word 'Diva'

Gisele Shaw is quintessential.

Shaw is nicknamed the "Quintessential Diva" and though "Diva" is a term that has brought up bad memories for wrestling fans due to the "Divas Era" in WWE, Shaw wants to change the way people look at the term.

The Divas Era was filled with bra and panties matches and women not being given an opportunity, but the sport has evolved to women being on similar ground to the men in some instances. For Shaw, she believes you can still be a "diva" and it be positive.

"A quintessential diva is someone who can do it all. I've labeled the acronym, DIVA, is someone who is Determined, Intelligent, Valiant, and Authentic. I really want to have a good meaning to it. A 'diva' has bad connotation, in the wrestling industry especially, for me and my background, I grew up watching the Divas and Knockouts, I was really inspired by them and I want to turn that around and have a positive meaning. It was a time, the wrestling was Diva, but it's just a word. If you have a negative meaning to it, then it's a negative meaning. If you put a positive meaning to it, which is what I'm trying to do, that's my message," she told Joel Pearl of Fightful.

Shaw is currently signed to IMPACT Wrestling. She recently teamed with VXT (Chelsea Green & Deonna Purrazzo) on the October 27 episode of IMPACT.
