James Storm Says Sting Pushed For Him To Go Over In TNA Matches

James Storm praises Sting.

James Storm recalls wrestling Sting a seemingly endless number of times during his time in TNA Wrestling. Sting, who spent the second-longest amount of time in his career with TNA, was big on putting over the younger talent in that promotion.

James Storm says that when it came to him, there was no exception. The Stinger frequently went to the higher-ups in TNA Wrestling and offered to put over James Storm when they wrestled, as James recalls in an interview with Sean Ross Sapp.

"I never did beat Sting," said Storm. "No. I wrestled him, I think, ninety-nine times in a row. Yeah. House show loops and then the stuff we did in IMPACT. He actually—this is a credit to him—he actually went to the office and was like, ‘Maybe we should put him over? Because it does no good for me to keep winning. He has no heat.’"

Storm also tells a funny story about Sting using a car service during an overseas TNA Wrestling tour because James Storm’s wife was not under contract with the wrestling promotion, she could not ride on the bus with the other talent so she rode with Sting instead.

"Funny story about that, also, about Sting really quick is we would go and do the England tours or whatever. My wife, she went on an England tour and because she wasn’t under contract with TNA, she wasn’t able to get on the bus. But TNA had Sting a car service. So Sting’s wife, Sting, and my wife all rolled in a limo the whole tour while we sat on a bus."

Today, Sting works in All Elite Wrestling and continues to work with the younger stars of today, specifically Darby Allin. Storm is a freelance wrestler spending a lot of time in the NWA.
