Jordynne Grace Compares Social Media To A Game Of ‘Telephone’ With Proof Of What People Actually Say

Jordynne Grace talks about the highs and lows of social media.

Social media and wrestling go hand-in-hand in 2022. As a medium to directly connect with your audience as well as promote upcoming events, and merchandise, and make connections with others in the industry, social media has become tied into the modern fabric of wrestling.

However, with all of those positives comes a handful of negatives as well. Managing the positives and negatives associated with social media has become a regular part of life for those who choose to use platforms like Twitter and Instagram.

Jordynne Grace, the inaugural IMPACT Digital Media Champion, is of the generation that grew up with social media becoming the norm. In her High School yearbook, Grace quoted Zack Ryder, someone who pioneered taking advantage of social media to accelerate your wrestling career. Matt Cardona, the man behind the Zack Ryder character, was the same person who defeated her for the IMPACT Digital Media Championship.

Speaking with Sean Ross Sapp, Jordynne Grace gave her thoughts on the highs and lows of social media, saying that there are issues with reading comprehension on the platforms. Grace Compares the experience to a game of Telephone.

“I love to connect with fans. But a lot of the time, I don’t think a lot of people were taught reading comprehension in schools,” she said. It’s not just me. It’s every person that tweets ever. Their tweet will get taken completely out of context. It’s like a game of Telephone on Twitter, but you can go back and read the tweet and prove that’s not what the person said. So it’s just a whole thing. There’s obviously the highest highs of social media and there’s also the lowest lows.”

Grace is currently the IMPACT Knockouts championship and will take part in the Derby City Rumble events in Louisville Kentucky on July 15 and 16, which will feature the IMPACT Wrestling debut of KUSHIDA.
