Mike Bailey Explains How The Schedule & Managment Helps The Locker Room Morale In TNA

'Speedball' Mike Bailey explains why the morale is great in TNA.

TNA is often praised by both wrestlers and personalities for having one of the best locker rooms in all of wrestling. Many people are willing to go to bat for said locker room, which seemingly has high morale and a lot of comradery.

While speaking to Fightful for a new interview, Mike Bailey talked about some of the reasoning behind the locker room's morale, noting that the management and the schedule helps.

"I don’t know, but it is very good. I think that stuff kind of trickles down. I think management is helpful and upbeat and everyone is civil to each other. I also think the schedule helps a lot. I think the freedom helps a lot. Something I love about working for TNA is that I also get to do independent dates with relative freedom and help bring people to TNA from those independent shows. But the fact that, with the limited schedule—and this is how it is— everyone gets a turn. There’s no, ‘These are our main guys and you’re just low echelon,’ everyone’s going to get a turn. Everyone has the freedom to show what they can do and then move up. I was, again, a very small part of a very loaded match at Hard to Kill. But also, I got, at Bound for Glory, I was put in the highly touted, very featured singles match. I think that’s how it is and I think having that confidence and having that freedom. I think it’s confidence in management that you’ll have your turn eventually."

Bailey went on to praise Scott D'Amore, saying that he's incredibly passionate about TNA.

"Absolutely. Utlimately, it’s his show. He loves what he does. Probably too much, potentially too much. He is incredibly passionate about making TNA the best thing ever and he’s worked tirelessly. I’m sure you can see from when he initially got the role to what we are now and what we’ve been showing at Hard to Kill. It’s been moving forward. It’s been growing even in the two years that I’ve been there. I think Scott D’Amore is directly to thank for that with his passion. That all trickles down."

Elsewhere in the interview, Bailey talked about facing challenges with his relationship with Veda Scott when he was away from the United States. Learn more here.
