Najasism recently won the Deep South Heavyweight Championship at the promotion's event on Saturday, September 9. Fightful's Stephen Jensen was on the scene for the event and spoke to Najasism for an exclusive Fightful Select interview.

In the interview, Najasism spoke highly of Xavier Woods and said that he saw a lot in him at a young age.

“So, I had already been wrestling. He always really saw a lot in me, he took me to my very first out of town wrestling show, road trip, first time ever going to a Ring Of Honor show. It was right after he got let go from IMPACT. For me, that was my first experience. He came and started training with us at PCW, it was a short period of time because he eventually got signed. I was super young then, I was good, I was naturally good and I never took it serious how the different opportunities I had at that point in time. He really saw something in me, he wanted to take me — even when I saw him in 2015, I had stopped wrestling, I had took a break. He’s like, ‘Hey, we’re about to do the Cruiserweight Classic, you’d be perfect to come in’ and I had already stopped, I had already quit. My story for him would be that he’s always been a positive person who’s always [gave] motivation.”
