In my ongoing 25 year campaign to entertain those watching and listening, I recently re-shuffled the deck concerning my daily shows on both PodcastOne.com and RelmNetwork.com, in order to keep RussosBrand.com both fresh and exciting. So, in adding to the line-up, I made the decision to start reviewing the old WCW NITRO SHOWS that Ed Ferrara and myself began penning on October 18, 1999. Keep in mind . . . I have not watched any of these shows since they aired.

IF YOU ARE A VINCE RUSSO HATER, AND HAVE ACCUSED VINCE RUSSO OF"KILLING WCW", OR STAKED CLAIM TO VINCE MCMAHON BEING RUSSO'S "FILTER" WHILE WRITING THE WWE ATTITUDE ERA, I URGE YOU STRONGLY TO NOT WATCH THESE SHOWS. FOR, IF YOU DO, YOU WILL CONCLUDE THAT YOU ARE A MINDLESS, CLUELESS, UNEDUCATED SHEEP, THAT HAS NO IDEA WHAT A GREAT WRESTLING SHOW IS, WHAT A GREAT TELEVISION SHOW IS, AND WHAT THE TELEVISION AUDIENCE ACTUALLY WANTS TO SEE. YOU WILL ALSO BE ADMITTING TO THE FACT THAT YOU ARE A WRESTLING MARK, AND WILL SUCK THE WWE'S BACKSIDE SHAMELESSLY, DESPITE HOW MUCH THEIR PRODUCT TODAY BOTH SMELLS AND STINKS.
You want to know why I stopped watching the current WWE product -- WATCH THIS SHOW. You want to see why the excuse of "three hours is too long" is absolute BS---WATCH THIS SHOW. You want to remember what beautiful, sexy women with beautiful bodies looked like --WATCH THIS SHOW. You want to see proof of Vince McMahon NOT being the one who wrote and produced the Attitude Era---WATCH THIS SHOW. You want to understand why you used to watch professional wrestling, but no longer give a sh-t -- WATCH THIS SHOW.
Based on the first Russo/Ferrara WCW effort, and the claim that "Russo Killed WCW", what exactly would I be charged with TODAY if I was the one writing the WWE's current product? If THREE HOURS of non-stop action, with great characters, intriguing storylines and DROP DEAD GORGEOUS WOMEN is your idea of "killing the wrestling business", what would be the charge for writing a show consisting of fat guys doing somersaults who don't look like stars, and have no character, or story, without a single, SEXY female in sight? What is that called? What would be the charge?
Watching the first Ferrara/Russo NITRO today, made me see firsthand how far the wrestling business has fallen. Back then, EVERYBODY looked like a star, smelled like a star and acted like a star. There were no "Average Joe's", not one, everybody who represented the WCW was there because they LOOKED THE PART. The fans were still in the audience---where they belonged. Story, after story, after story, drama, comedy, intrigue, swerves, curves---and yes I AM TALKING ABOUT THE DROP DEAD BEAUTIFUL WOMEN that have all together disappeared. Torrie, Stacie, Kimberly---if you are a NORMAL male . . . how the hell would you rather see a guy who looks like he drives a cab instead of KIMBERLY? ARE YOU NUTS? What is wrong with you?
Three hours of great TV---THREE HOURS. No long matches to fill space, no in-rings that went nowhere---everything MEANT SOMETHING. And the pre-tapes---there were more pre-tapes in the first 15 minutes of the show, then RAW currently has in its three hour entirety. WHY? Simple--because the WWE writers/producers are LAZY TODAY. They don't want to put the work in to produce good television. So---they just let the wrestlers do the work, only problem is . . . millions of potential customers -- WON'T WATCH FOR THE FAKE FIGHTS.
Compared to 17 years ago--what an embarrassment--what a total freakin' embarrassment.
Vince Russo "Killed WCW"? Vince McMahon was Vince Russo's "filter"? Yeah, and Kevin Owens is the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
And you wonder why nobody's watching anymore?
