Sami Zayn Would Like WWE To Bring A Premium Live Event To Santiago, Chile

Sami Zayn wants WWE to host a PLE in Santiago, Chile.

As WWE continues to make international shows a regular part of its premium live event schedule, the possibilities of where WWE can host a major event next continue to grow.

Speaking with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp, Sami Zayn gave his pitch for why Santiago, Chile should host an event. Zayn touted the local audience as one of the best crowds in the world in their own unique way.

"One place I’ve been advocating for with regards to the international PLEs, is I would love to do a PLE in Santiago, Chile," said Zayn. "I’ve long said that’s one of the best, if not the best, crowds in the world. They’re not playing a part. They’re not like, ‘We’re on TV, let’s show them what a good crowd we are.’ There is nothing wrong with that, but when you go perform there, there is an authentic passion that is hard to articulate, but you can feel it. I love that country and those people. I love Latin America, and I would love to have a PLE there and I would love to do something significant at a PLE there one day. Our fans are really good everywhere. You go to Europe, they’re amazing."

Furthermore, Zayn wants to wrestle in Africa as Africa and Antarctica are the two final continents he would have to compete on. Zayn would go on to talk about how important it is to him to try and find I have many countries as possible and wrestle in all of them.

"I would love to wrestle in Africa, South Africa we would run ages ago. Africa is my last continent, excluding Antarctica, but that would be awesome," he said. "When I wrestled in Chile in 2011, that’s the country that has the most land claim to Antartica and is the closest country to it, so I was trying to get the independent promoter that I worked for to try to run a show in Antarctica just so I could do it. How historic would that be? The only person to run a show in Antarctica. Santiago is the first place that comes to mind, but there are so many places I haven’t been that I would love to do.

"You say I’ve wrestled so many places, but the truth is, anybody who has been in WWE has probably wrestled in an equal number of countries because WWE goes there. I think the reason I have that reputation is because I did it before WWE and that was my MO, try to find as many countries as possible and wrestle in them all. If there is an opportunity to go somewhere that WWE hasn’t been already, I’d be up for that."

Elsewhere in this interview, Zayn spoke about getting clearance to hit the Brainbustah on Gunther at WWE WrestleMania XL. Read those comments here.
