Tre' LaMar Discusses Being Trained By Johnny Gargano And Candice LeRae

Tre' LaMar got his start in Absolute Intense Wrestling, one of the top independent promotions in the midwest.

LaMar learned at the AIW Academy, which was run by Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae before they started with WWE full-time.

Speaking to Stephen Jensen on The Spotlight, LaMar reflected on learning from Gargano and LeRae.

"I learned a lot from those two. At the time, that's when Johnny started getting his opportunity with WWE. He was doing appearances, he was still there (at the training school), but every now and again he would have to dip out. I got about seven months of training with him and then he took off. I learned a lot from him. He's a really cool guy," he said.

Once Gargano left, Dominic Garrini became the head trainer at the school.

"Once him and Candice left, the school went to Dominic Garrini. When he took over the academy, he handled the transition really well, from doing seminars all over and from experience that he grabbed from his years in wrestling. He's very knowledgeable. Kevin Ku is the same way, that's why they are one of the best tag teams," said LaMar.

LaMar still makes appearances at AIW events, but has branched out and travels across the country to work for various independent promotions, including Prestige, BLP, Freelance, and more.

Elsewhere during the interview, LaMar explained how Cody Rhodes help him land matches in AEW. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
