The August 8 episode of WWE SmackDown is beginning to take shape.
During tonight's Universal Championship contract signing between Finn Balor and Roman Reigns, the former King, Baron Corbin made his presence felt, attacking Balor just as he was about to put pen to paper. Looking to claim the SummerSlam match for himself, Corbin picked up the contract but was promptly stopped by John Cena, who took him out and signed the contract himself.
Backstage, Paul Heyman argued that the contract is invalid, but Adam Pearce said that it was good enough for him.
It was announced later in the night that Balor would get a shot at revenge next week in a one-on-one match against Baron Corbin.
As of now, no other matches have been announced for next week's show. Fightful will keep you informed should that change.
