Former WWE 24/7 Champion Enes Kanter Traded To Portland

Enes Kanter has headed back to Portland.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Boston Celtics are trading center Enes Kanter to the Portland Trail Blazers in a three-team deal with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Memphis will receive Mario Hezonja and the 30th pick (Desmond Bane) while the Celtics will get a future Memphis draft consideration.

Kanter famously won the WWE 24/7 Title in September 2019, turning heel in Madison Square Garden by revealing his Celtics jersey. He immediately lost the title back to R-Truth. Kanter has been linked to WWE for over a year, claiming in May that he's had offers from WWE and that he will become a wrestler once his basketball career is over.

Kanter is a longtime wrestling fan who entered the Big Blue Madness 2010 game at Kentucky to The Undertaker's theme, even sporting a black hat.

Kanter averaged 8.1 points and 7.4 rebounds in 16.9 minutes while coming off the bench for the Celtics last season. He was part of the Blazers 2018-19 team that went to the Western Conference Finals.
